Sri Lanka vs India: Cheteshwar Pujara completes half century

Cheteshwar Pujara, who was left out for the first 2 matches of the series, made a strong impact on his comeback by scoring a well-crafted half century and he still going strong. Pujara, who usually bats at No. 3, opened the innings with KL Rahul and absorbed all the pressure on a wicket that had something for fast bowlers. Pujara took 127 balls to reach the half-century landmark and this shows the patience with which Pujara has batted in the middle.

India needs to have faith in him is because he has shown glimpses of brilliance in the past. If he gains his confidence back, he is a top contender for the no. 3 spot. India has tried a number of players at that spot, but none of them have been consistent.
