The on going 5 match series between India and West Indies looked like a dull affair until yesterday when West Indies pulled of an unlikely upset and defeated mighty Indians by 11 runs. Though Windies managed to post just 189 on board in their quota of 50 overs, a faltering Indian batting line-up crumbled in front of some steady and disciplined bowling and ultimately fell short by 11 runs.
Choosing to bat first, West Indies openers took their time to settle down and played the initial overs without losing any wickets. But just like other matches, almost all the batsmen got start but couldn’t capitalize to convert it into a big score. Indian bowlers looked at their usual best especially Kuldeep Yadav who once again troubled the West Indies batsmen and outfoxed them with his variations. Indian fielding also looked sharp throughout the match and never allowed West Indies batsman to sneak in an easy single. But the highlight of the West Indies innings was a brilliant catch which our ever reliable MS Dhoni took to dismiss Shai Hope.
Hope, who has been a shining light of West Indies batting line up was perfectly set by Hardik Pandya in the 35th over of the match. After bowling some sharp short stuff at him, Hardik tempted Shai to play at a full offside ball. Hope tried to run the ball down to the third man, but only managed to get a faint edge. With the ever reliable MS Dhoni behind the stumps, he dived to his right and made a tough catch look extremely easy.
