India Legends kicked off their Road Safety World Series T20 2022 season with a bang against South Africa Legends by putting up a mammoth total of 217 at the Green Park in Kanpur.
Before the match, all the talks were about the return of legendary batters Sachin Tendulkar – who is the captain of the side – and Suresh Raina, who recently announced his retirement from the IPL.
Stuart Binny lit up the Green Park, Kanpur with his stunning batting

However, by the end of India’s innings it was Stuart Binny who hogged all the limelight, all for good reasons. Binny, the former India all-rounder, smashed 82 runs off 42 balls to take India to over 200. To think that Binny came after the powerplay and plundered these runs is astonishing.
India were given a quick-fire start by openers Tendulkar and Naman Ojha, the pair adding 46 runs in 31 balls but soon both were back in the hut. Raina entered at number 3 and batted sensibly after the fall of the openers, holding his end while also getting regular boundaries. Raina scored 33 off 22 balls.

It was Binny who did most of the damage, but first he took a few balls to settle himself in. Binny was 10 runs off 10 balls before he exploded on the Protea Legends bowlers. First, in the 11th over, he smashed Eddie Leie for a couple of sixes to warmp himself up for the following assault: regular boundaries brought him to his fifty, which came up of the 31st delivery he faced.
Next was mayhem: Binny cracked his last 32 runs off only 11 balls! Two sixes to Garnett Kruger followed by two more to Makhaya Ntini! To add more fireworks in Kanpur, former India batsman and World Cup winner Yusuf Pathan bludgeoned four sixes in the last two overs.
Former RCB and RR all-rounder Stuart Binny, who also holds the record of best bowling figures by an Indian in ODIs, walked back unbeaten to a standing ovation from the Kanpur crowd.
On Twitter as well, Binny’s innings stunned everyone.
Some fans came up with hilarious memes and takes, some even asked for Binny to come back in the Indian team:
