The pace trio of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins breathed fire as they dominated over England cricket team from the word go in the ongoing first Ashes match at the Gabba, Brisbane on Wednesday. The Australian cricket team made an electrifying start to the game as they attacked England from the word go and didn’t let the visitors settle down on the field.
The visitors got off to the worst possible start as Mitchell Starc clean bowled Rory Burns for a first-ball duck. The second breakthrough to the hosts was given by Josh Hazlewood, who dismissed Dawid Malan. He left the English fans shocked by sending back the skipper Joe Root for a duck.
Soon, Australia’s skipper Pat Cummins also joined the party as he claimed his first wicket as the Test skipper by getting rid of the big fish. Cummins dismissed the dangerous all-rounder Ben Stokes. Ollie Pope and Haseeb Hameed tried to bring back the momentum and showed great fighting spirit and took England into lunch on Day 1 at 59/4.
England’s second session started as badly as the first one as Pat Cummins dismissed opener Haseeb Hameed. Following this, the hosts kept quiet for a tad period but Mitchell Starc provided the much-needed breakthrough to the Australian side.
It won’t be wrong to say that but the pacers bossed the game. the Australian skipper Pat Cummins ended with a five-wicket haul to his name, and Cameron Green also picked his maiden wicket. The England side was bowled out under 150 runs, now Australian batters would look to take a healthy first-innings lead.
Meanwhile, social media has been buzzing with reactions over the dismal performance of the England cricket team.
Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:
@patcummins30 You brought back that era, When teams used to have a Skipper who bowls and they used to dominate with their lethal bowling.

Five for Cummins is much-deserved but that ball from Starc to kickstart the Ashes ? Now for the England bowlers to try and make a game out of this one as the pitch looks a beauty #Ashes #GABBA
