Rohit Sharma-led team India continued with their dominating performance as they registered another thumping win against Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I match to take a lead of 1-0 in the series. Ishan Kishan won the Player of the Match award for his blockbuster knock of 89 runs off 56 balls, hitting 10 fours and 3 sixes. He was well supported by the skipper Rohit Sharma, who also played a gritty knock of 44 off 32 balls to become the all-time leading run-getter in the shortest format of the game.

The Indian innings that kickstarted with a bang with Kishan’s breath-taking note, came to an end with the fireworks from Shreyas Iyer’s bat, who gave a perfect finish to India’s batting. Besides them, Shreyas Iyer’s sublime 57* off 28 paved the way for India as they posted a challenging total of 199-run for Sri Lankans.

In reply, Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka had a miserable start to their innings as they lost their opener Pathum Nissanka in the first ball itself. The Indian bowlers ran through the Sri Lankan batting line-up to restrict them from chasing the target score. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Bumrah did a great job in the powerplay. Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja too had a decent outing. Iyer leaked some runs but also managed to pick two wickets.

Meanwhile, fans on social media were overjoyed with the dominating performance of the Indian cricket team. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone came up with amazing reactions while hailing the brilliance of team India.
