Chris Gayle, the legendary West Indies player, walked out to bat for the last time for his national team as West Indies took on Australia in their last game at the ICC T20 World Cup. Though the cricketer hasn’t announced his retirement yet, his gestures said it all.

Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss, was looking in some fine touch when he walked out to bat against Australia in the T20 World Cup fixture. It appeared that he will score big in this match, however, the legendary batsman was soon dismissed after playing a short cameo of 9 balls.

He was batting at over a strike rate of 150 before he edged a delivery back onto the stumps before Pat Cummins crashed into his stumps. Following his dismissal, Gayle started walking back to the pavilion, but as he neared the ropes, he turned back and showed his bat around to the fans. This was the gesture that said a lot of things. Later, he was also seen distributing cricketing gears to fans in the stands.

While there is still suspense over Gyale’s retirement, fans on social media were left in awe after the Universe Boss dropped all the hints for the fans. In no time, social media was flooded with amazing reactions and tributes from the emotional fans to it. Several cricketers, experts, and pundits also joined the bandwagon and came up with amazing tributes for the cricketing superstar.

Here, check out some of the best tweets on Chris Gayle’s last performance for West Indies:
