Australian star batsman David Warner is officially back to his form as he notched an important half-century for his team in a T20 World Cup match against Sri Lanka last night.
Warner, who was under the scanner for a long time after a lean run, was back to his best against Sri Lanka. Before heading to this match, Warner had registered scores of 0, 2, 0, 1, and 14 across various T20 levels. However, he returned with a bang and played a crucial in taking his team home in this match.
Following a scratchy start against South Africa, the Australian cricket team made a comeback to their dominating best by chasing the target of 155 runs. Australian side gave a complete performance on the day. Though initially, it looked like Sri Lanka will take the game away with the bat, however, after a slow start, the Australian bowlers made a comeback at the perfect time to restrict the opposition.
Later, David Warner made a solid return to some much-needed form with the bat to make it two in two in T20 World Cup for Australia. Though Warner started off slow but soon he started timing the ball well to churn out boundaries on offer. Warner played an important knock of 65 runs off 42 runs, where he smashed 10 boundaries.
During his knock, he was well supported by Aaron Finch(37 runs off 23 balls) and Steve Smith (28 runs off 26 balls).
Interestingly, ahead of the game, during a press conference, he had said: “I actually think people talking about my form is quite funny. I laugh at the matter.”
Meanwhile, fans on social media were thrilled to watch David Warner making a return to his form. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone took to Twitter to laud the special performance of Warner.

It will be so good if David Warner ends up playing for KKR next in #IPL2022. Imagine what he will do if he gets seven games on that Eden Gardens deck. They will also need a captain and Warner solves that problem too. ?#AUSvSL

Warner and Zampa the big pluses for Australia. Warner’s form is critical for Australia’s progress at the #ICCT20WorldCup . And Zampa for me is the player of the match today.
