The Indian cricket team defeated New Zealand’s cricket team in the fifth and final T20I to register a Historic whitewash. For the final match, Virat Kohli opted to take rest for the day, while India’s vice-captain, Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the field with an injury the Indian cricket side was led by KL Rahul.
After brilliantly defeating the New Zealand cricket team in the first four matches, the Indian cricketers carried their form in the final match as well to whitewash the New Zealanders by 5-0 under the leadership of KL Rahul. The Man in Blue defended 163 runs.

Chasing a total of 164 runs, New Zealand’s cricket team were off to a disastrous start as they lost three wickets for just 17 runs. Martin Guptill was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah for 3 before Washington Sundar dismissed Colin Munro. Tom Bruce was then run out for a three-ball duck.
But Tim Seifert and Ross Taylor took the charge and brought momentum to the game. Both the cricketers smashed India’s Shivam Dube in the tenth over to put New Zealand on top. Shivam Dube turned out to be the most expensive player for the Indian side as he went on to conceded 34 runs in one over.

Must confess I didn’t think it would be 5-0. Excellent as India were, New Zealand’s back-up was found wanting.
