And he is back. After a long wait, Jasprit Bumrah has finally woken from his New Zealand tour’s slumber. India’s bowling trump card Jasprit Bumrah was facing a lot of heat because of his poor form and performances in the ongoing tour to New Zealand. However, he has now roared back into the game with a stunning comeback on the second day of the second Test match.

After getting comfortably outplayed in the first test, Team India with the help of Jasprit Bumrah enjoyed their best session of the series on day two of the second test at Christchurch’s Hagley Oval on Sunday.
The New Zealand cricket team began their day with a strong start at 63-0 while chasing a score of 242. Team India desperately needed to make a comeback in the opening session of day 2 and they did.
Team India made a stunning start by picking up two wickets in the first half-hour. Jasprit Bumrah picked three major wickets to give India a much-needed breakthrough.
Jasprit Bumrah gave a huge wicket to India as New Zealand’s skipper Kane Williamson was caught behind for 3. It was a cheeky line outside the off-stump and Kane Williamson ended up nicking it to Rishabh Pant. After Kane Williamson, Jasprit’s next victims were BJ Watling and Tim Southee.

Bumrah took two wickets in three balls. While it was a good fielding effort from Ravindra Jadeja to dismiss BJ Watling, on the other hand, Jasprit produced a peach of a ball to dismiss Tim Southee, who was sent back at zero runs.
Ahead of the match, Ravi Shastri had predicted Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback into the game. Shutting down the critics, Ravi Shastri had said:
“Arre Bumrah is… very close to getting a five-for or six-for. Might happen tomorrow. Then don’t come and tell me I told you so. Similarly with Shami. Nothing to worry about it,”
Social media is flooded with amazing reactions from fans on Jasprit Bumrah’ comeback. Here, check out the 10 best tweets on Jasprit Bumrah’s performance:
