Cracker innings from Shreyas Iyer, loved the way he went for the ball today specially after getting set. Those boundaries were stunning.

Life has been tough for Shreyas Iyer in the past year. Got injured before wt20 , missed the main squad , got covid and missed games recently , lost DC captaincy despite no fault of his . Good to see him back amongst runs in this format. ♥ pic.twitter.com/ycPjrKRUcI

Ahead of the match, several experts and fans have opined that Iyer should bat at the no.3 position. During his career so far, he has been shuffled across various batting positions in the middle order. Ahead of the match, Iyer talked about the same and said that he is very much comfortable at no.3 position. He said:

“I’m very much comfortable at No.3 because I’ve grown up batting that number. You get to bat in both situations, when a wicket falls early, you are basically an opener, and after that when you get set, you can finish off the game in the end. It’s lovely to bat at that number, but even otherwise, I’m flexible to bat at other positions as well.”
