10 Best Tweets On Washington Sundar’s Powerful Performance On Day 3

What a blockbuster way to start the Test career! Washington Sundar made a sensational debut in the longest format of the game for India in the ongoing fourth and final match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Gabba.

Sundar kickstarted his Test career by dismissing Steve Smith in Australia’s 1st innings and then went on to bag the wickets of Cameron Green and Nathan, completing with figures of 3/89 in the 1st innings.  Later, when India was chasing the whopping total of 369 runs, Washington played an instrumental role in taking India closer to the target.

Newcomers Shardul alongwith Washington Sundar fought back for India to get the team to a decent total. Shardul Thakur formed a formidable partnership with Washington Sundar of a brilliant 121-run stand for the seventh wicket and together they took the game by storm. Both the cricketers soon scored their respective half-centuries.

However, the partnership was broken by Pat Cummins, who bowled out Shardul on 67 runs, during his knock, Thakur smashed 9 fours and 2 sixes. However, Sundar continued for a while before he was scalped by Mitchell Starc with a bouncer. Sundar scored 62 runs off 144 balls, smashing 7 fours and 1 six.

Sundar made a few new records at the Gabba with his gutsy knock. With his half-century, Sundar became only the 3rd Indian to score a fifty on Test debut in Australia. Not just this, all thanks to his all-round performance, Sundar became only the second Indian player to hit a half-century in their debut batting while also claiming 3 or more wickets in their debut bowling.

Meanwhile, social media was all praises for the newcomer Washington and for his all-round performance Several cricketers, fans, and experts took to their twitter and hailed the brilliance of Sundar. There were many who came up with hilarious memes while showering praises on the debutant.
