He was so overwhelmed and excited after spotting his favorite cricketers that he paid their bill worth AUD 118.69 (INR 6683). The fan also narrated the brief interaction he had with the cricketers after they found out that their bill had been paid by the fan. The fan also claimed that Rishabh Pant had ‘hugged’ him.

Soon after the series of tweets from the fans, the Australian media bashed Indian cricketers for breaking the bio-bubble and protocols. The Australian Cricket Board also started its investigation on the whole matter. Even the cricketers were placed in isolation away from the rest of the squad.

Following the social media backlash, the fan later took a U-turn from his statement and posted a clarification that Pant never hugged him and cricketers maintained social distancing throughout. He also claimed that he wrote all that in excitement. He wrote:

Later, the fan shared a full picture of the bill that went viral on social media and the content of the bill has sparked a massive controversy on social media as the bill shows that Rohit Sharma and co. allegedly consumed beef.
