The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League is currently going on in full swing. Today, Punjab Kings is locking its horns with the Rajasthan Royals in their first outing of IPL 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The ongoing match is being expected to turn into a high-octane thriller.
However, as soon as the match started and Punjab Kings’ opener KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal came out to open the innings for their team, fans on social media were left stunned after looking at their new jersey. Well, Punjab Kings had recently revealed their new red jersey that features golden stripes.
Though the Punjab-based franchise opted to continue with the primary red color several fans on social media felt that the new jersey similar to an old Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) one. While many felt nostalgic about the jersey as some of the legendary players including Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid was seen playing wearing that jersey, on the other hand, many refused to give a thumbs up for the new Punjab Kings’ kit.
Meanwhile, fans on social media soon flooded Twitter with their reactions to the new jersey of the Punjab Kings. Several fans claimed that the former one-time runners-up new red jersey has an uncanny resemblance to one of RCB’s old jerseys and trolled Punjab Kings for copying the jersey, on the other hand, many felt nostalgic on seeing the jersey.
