The Indian cricket team is currently locking its horns with New Zealand in the ongoing 2nd Test match against New Zealand at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. After the morning session was washed out due to rain, the Indian side started the first day of the ongoing game on a disappointing note as two senior batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli got out for a duck.

India’s Test specialist, Cheteshwar Pujara, who has been going through a rough patch in his career, failed to leave a mark with his performance yet again. He hasn’t had the best of times in international cricket lately. Due to his bad form and lack of runs, he was found himself at the receiving end of criticism and flak from the netizens. In fact, questions were raised on his position in the playing XI.

10 Hilarious Memes After Cheteshwar Pujara’s Flop Show In Mumbai

Walking out to bat at no. 3 position, Cheteshwar Pujara was expected to play a big role in this match. The onus was on Pujara to build a decent partnership with the well-set opener Mayank Agarwal, however, he was dismissed for a 5-ball duck by New Zealand’s Ajaz Patel. Pujara, who is known for tiring up the bowlers with his grit, charged down, yorked himself but couldn’t make it big.

Patel’s delivery dipped below his bat, spun viciously and took down the off-stump, before he walked back to the pavilion.

Here, watch the video of his dismissal:

Meanwhile, the fans were left disappointed and started trolling the cricketer left, right and center on Twitter. There were many who predicted that the cricketer will be dropped from the team with BCCI citing injury as the reason.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:

What a ball, Ajaz. Its a rarity to see Pujara get out to spin while stepping out. #INDvNZ

Expect Pujara to have a niggle in next match.

Imagine India dropping Pujara here, and playing Rahane where the ball is turning this much from Day 1.

And Pujara has scored one of his top 100s on this very ground which gets overshadowed because of KP’s gem. And I feel Pujara played better spinners too.

If we had one more Test in the series, Pujara would’ve had a niggle here.
