The Indian Test captain Virat Kohli stirred a controversy after he brushed aside the speculations and chatter around his availability in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa, saying “I was always available”.
While his comments dismissed the rumors of him not taking part in the ODI series against the Proteas, on the other hand, his explosive statements about the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly‘s claims have stirred an ugly controversy.

Virat refused the claims of BCCI president Sourav Ganguly regarding the captaincy shift by clarifying that he was not been spoken to previously about the change of captaincy and was informed only 90 minutes before the decision was announced by the chief of the selection committee Chetan Sharma.
“I told the BCCI before giving up T20I captaincy,” Kohli said. “I told them my point of view. I gave the reasons why I wanted to quit T20 captaincy and my view point was received very nicely. There was no offence, no hesitation and not for once was I told that ‘you should not leave T20 captaincy’.” Virat had said.
