The Indian Test captain Virat Kohli stirred a controversy after he brushed aside the speculations and chatter around his availability in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa, saying “I was always available”.

“I told the BCCI before giving up T20I captaincy,” Kohli said. “I told them my point of view. I gave the reasons why I wanted to quit T20 captaincy and my view point was received very nicely. There was no offence, no hesitation and not for once was I told that ‘you should not leave T20 captaincy’.” Virat had said.
