As the big day in Indian cricket was more eventful than ever and promised a lot more drama than one could have expected, to give it a finishing touch, and a fine one, Arjun Tendulkar became the last buy of the day.
Mumbai Indians submitted the first bid for the base price of the youngster and was the solitary one to do so. Eventually, Arjun went to Mumbai Indians for a base price of Rs 20 lakhs.
Comparisons have already started doing rounds and it is heart-wrenching to see how the youngster will be facing a boatload of pressure not because there are a lot of expectations from him but people want to see their iconic Sachin in him.
Apart from Arjun Tendulkar, Mumbai roped in lucrative names in the form of Nathan Coulter-Nile at a price of Rs 5 crores, fast bowler Adam Milne at Rs 3.20 crores, Piyush Chawla at Rs 2.40 crores, Yudhvir Charak at Rs 20 lakhs and Marco Jansen at Rs 20 lakhs.
With most of the players still in the hut that promises the likes of Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Ishan Kishan and an endless list, Mumbai had an amazing outing in today’s auction.
As Arjun Tendulkar came to Mumbai, the Tendulkar legacy will be kept alive. This will also be a learning curve for the young man who had loads of talent in his team to look up to.
