After a horrible start to the innings, Chennai Super Kings’ young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad stole the show with his batting performance as he played a crucial knock to take his team CSK to a safer side. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Dhoni felt that it looked like a good wicket, and setting a target was a better option.

However, the Dhoni-led side had a worst-possible start to the game as they lost early wickets to put their team in trouble. CSK lost three wickets in three overs, while also losing Ambati Rayudu, who went back to the pavilion retired hurt after getting hit on his elbow.

CSK’s top order was eventually collapsed in the powerplay, however, CSK’s young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad kept his calm and played a sublime knock.

With MS Dhoni in the middle, Ruturaj Gaikwad looked forward to increasing the scoring rate with a few stylish shots as the duo looked to steady the ship. However, to everyone’s dismay, they also lost skipper MS Dhoni too in the last over of the powerplay.

But Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja formed a crucial partnership and bailed CSK out. While Jadeja was playing cautiously, happily dealing in ones and twos, on the other hand, Gaikwad was smashing the MI bowlers to all the corners of the ground. He remained unbeaten till the last ball and the game ended with 88* runs in Gaikwad’s account. His stunning knock was laced with 9 fours and 4 sixes
