Hardik Pandya has once again captained the Gujarat Titans brilliantly in the Indian Premier League 2023. The defending champions finished on top of the points table in the league stage. However, they suffered a blip in the Qualifier 1 and lost to CSK. They will have another opportunity to reach the Indian Premier League 2023 final when they face Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier 2 at their home stadium, Narendra Modi stadium.
Despite their impressive run so far in Indian Premier League 2023, there are a couple of big name players that the Gujarat Titans should release after the Indian Premier League 2023, even if they go on to win the trophy and defend their title successfully.
Here are 2 players GT should release even if they win the IPL 2023

Matthew Wade
The retention of Matthew Wade for Indian Premier League 2023 by Gujarat Titans was alreadt surprising to many. The left-hander hasn’t been in great form outside Australia’s BBL and already has issues on low and spin-friendly tracks in India used in the IPL.
Wade batted at number 3 for Gujarat Titans last season when they won the title. But Gujarat Titans wanted a better number 3, so they got Kane Williamson in the auction, however, Williamson suffered an injury in the first match.
Despite that, Wade wasn’t picked in any match this season. The GT management clearly do not have much faith in Wade’s abilities as they tried Indian youngsters in the middle-order and they succeeded.
Dasun Shanaka
Dasun Shanaka had gone unsold in the Indian Premier League 2023 auction, but got in the Gujarat Titans squad as a injury replacement of Kane Williamson. The Sri Lankan skipper has not performed well in his three chances so far: he has managed scores of 9*(7), 0(3) and 17 (16). Shanaka has also not been asked to bat.
