Dale Steyn is arguably the best fast bowler in the world at the moment, and one of the best to have ever played the game of cricket. He has bamboozled almost every batsman he has played against.

In this video, which was uploaded by cricketcountry.com, Dale Steyn was asked “Which batsman in the world plays him the best?”

Dale Steyn said he has an edge when he bowls to opening batsmen with the new ball because it swings more and when he bowls in South Africa, he gets a lot of assistance from the pitches. Steyn added that his job becomes tougher when the ball gets older and he has to rely more on his skills, pace and variations to out-think the batsmen.

Dale Steyn said that although there is no particular player who plays him best, he recalled the Nagpur Test of 2010 when Sachin Tendulkar made him feel helpless. Steyn said Sachin’s ability to out-think him gave him the worst feeling as a bowler.

“Sachin knew what was coming,” Steyn said.

Talking about the shortest format, Steyn said it is very difficult to bowl to Chris Gayle in T20 cricket.

Chris Gayle is very destructive. He can take you apart in literally one over. You might not bowl another over in the game,” Steyn said.
