AB de Villiers has retained the No. 1 position in the latest ICC ODI Rankings for batsmen. Sri Lanka’s batting maestro, Kumar Sngakkara, who has scored 4 back-to-back hundreds in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, has climbed up two placed to be at the No. 2 spot. Now, the quarter final of the World Cup 2015 will see No. 1 and No.2 ODI batsmen i.e. AB de Villiers and Kumar Sangakkara respectively, battling it out against each other to stay alive in the mega event.

While de Villiers has gained eight ratings points since the start of the tournament to enjoy his career-high rating of 899, Sangakkara has gained three places and 68 ratings points to sit on 861 ratings points, also his career-high rating.
South Africa’s Hashim Amla is in third position, 14 ratings points behind Kumar Sangakkara, while Virat Kohli is at No. 4 spot, trailing Amla by just four ratings points.
India captain MS Dhoni has gained two places and is now in eight spot while Australia’s Glenn Maxwell has jumped eight places to occupy a career-best ninth position.
