After whitewashing Australia in their own backyard, in the recently concluded T20 series, Indian Cricket Team now have their eyes set on the 2016 World T20, which will take in place in India itself. India showed great skills and character to whitewash Australia and many believe that they are the hot favourites to win the tournament.
Talking about the squad for 2016 World T20, Indian captain MS Dhoni said, the squad that whitewashed Australia will be the most likely Indian squad that will play in the World T20. The selectors will meet tomorrow (5th February) to make the final call, but here we look at the possible Indian squad for the 2016 World T20.
BATSMEN

Batting has always been India’s strongest point and with the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli batting the way they are, there won’t be any change in the batting unit that featured in Australia.
Batsmen: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey
BOWLERS
India’s bowling unit received a lot of criticism in the ODIs, but they made a good comeback in the T20 series. Ravichandram Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja anchored the middle overs and young Jasprit Bumrah was very effective with the new ball and also in the death overs.
Bowlers: R Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah
ALL-ROUNDERS
Yuvraj Singh made a cracking comeback in the T20 series. He scored the crucial runs in the last over of the third match and also showed good skills with the ball. Hardik Pandya, who is more of a batting all-rounder, didn’t get to bat and wasn’t that impressive with the ball. But, due his reputation as a big hitter and energy in the field, he might get the nod of the selectors for the 2016 World T20. Irfan Pathan, who was the star performer in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2016, have been in brilliant all-round form and he might push the selectors for a place in the squad for 2016 World T20.
All-Rounder: Yuvraj Singh, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Irfan Pathan
WICKET-KEEPER
It’s an easy one. There is only one choice for wicketkeeper in India, in limited overs cricket and that is MS Dhoni.
