India vs Australia 2017, Third Test, Ranchi: As Steve Smith reached his 19th Test hundred and second of this tour, Australian fans celebrated the moment and hailed their captain for scoring a fighting hundred after what happened in the second Test at Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore.
Smith was criticised by Virat Kohli, pundits and fans for looking at the dressing to get some kind of help regarding Decision Review System (DRS). He was criticised heavily by Indian captain Virat Kohli in the post-match reference, in which he alleged Smith of crossing the line on “more than one occasion”.
Steve Smith called it a brain fade and was under a lot of pressure coming into the third Test. But, keeping off-field things aside, the Australian captain batted brilliantly on a good batting wicket at JSCA stadium in Ranchi and scored his 19th Test hundred.
Fans celebrated his hundred on social networking sites and as expected, the banter was at show on Twitter and Facebook. Tweets, posts and memes came out in number. One of the tweets by Australian website WilliamHill took a dig at Kohli while congratulating Steve Smith.
This is what they tweeted:
“#INDvAUS Injury Update Virat Kohli (Shoulder – fielding incident) Steve Smith (Shoulder – repeatedly raising the bat for centuries).”
