India’s skipper Virat Kohli congratulated his teammates on their spectacular series win against Australia and brilliant performances throughout the 2016/17 season. In a very personal letter, Virat Kohli heaped praises on his number 3 batsman Cheteshwar Pujara. Pujara was one of the most consistent performers for India throughout the season. Not long ago, Pujara was dropped from the squad but he worked very hard on his game and made a comeback.

Pujara’s partnership with Ajinkya Rahane in the second innings of the Bengaluru Test that helped India win the match and level the series. While his double century in Ranchi put India in a position from where they could not have lost the match.

This is what Virat Kohli wrote for Cheteshwar Pujara:

Everyone has contributed this season but iam particularly happy and delighted to see the grit and determination of this guy. What a champion. Least mentioned but most effective. Well done puji @cheteshwar_pujara for an outstanding season brother. Wish you many more years of stupendous performances for the team. Keep going ✌️😎
