IPL 2017: Gujarat Lions & Kolkata Knight Riders Likely Playing XI

The second game of the Indian Premiere league will take place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium with the Gujarat Lions going against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Talking about the Gujarat team, obviously Suresh Raina will lead the team with Dinesh Karthik being the wicket-keeper.

They have a good opening pair option in McCullum and English batsman Jason Roy. McCullum is a destructive batsman by nature and Roy has been in good form recently.

Aaron finch can fit in at number three followed by captain Suresh Raina.  Next in, Dinesh Karthik can hold the innings and play steadily. Young batsman Ishan can ideally come in at number six.

Picking Aussie all-rounder at number 7 is a no brainer. He can chip in with some good overs and is a brilliant finisher with the ability to bat under pressure.

Shivil Kaushik can be Gujarat’s spinner. He is a good choice as his action helps him.

Experienced pacer Praveen Kumar can form the opening bowling pair with Dhawal Kulkarni. They both have played a lot of cricket and are the perfect combination a team needs.

Basil Thampi can be the third fast bowler. He made his first-class debut for Kerala in the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy an was bought for INR 85 lakhs in the auction. Over 8 times his base price (10 lakhs). He is known for consistently bowling at 145 kmph. Not only that, he also has a good yorker which can be utilised at the death.
