MS Dhoni was replaced by Steve Smith as the captain before this edition of the Indian premier league.
MS Dhoni’s form has been a talking topic recently and many are questioning his place in the team. Sourav Ganguly, former indian skipper also said that Dhoni is not the best batsman when it comes to T20 cricket.
But, in a press conference Steve Smith, captain of the RPS side said that he is not worries about MS Dhoni.
“He has been hitting the ball quite well in the end. He is a class player. As they say, ‘form is temporary, class is permanent’. He was playing well in Bangalore and he also hit a monstrous hit. He was looking like he was finding his groove. Hopefully, we will see a big knock from him in the coming games,” said Steve Smith.
A journalist asked Smith whether MS should be promoted up the order. Smith responded back saying, “Do you want him to open the innings?”.
Smith hopes that MS Dhoni will perform in the upcoming matches and said that he is not worries about Dhoni.
“We will see how it goes. I am not worried about MS. I think he is going to do fine.”
