IPL 2017: Delhi Daredevils’ mentor Rahul Dravid was very disappointed after his team’s poor performance against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali, on Sunday. Delhi Daredevils were asked to bat first in the afternoon game by KXIP captain Glenn Maxwell and they could only manage to score 67 runs. After that, it was a one-sided match as KXIP openers Martin Guptill and Hashim Amla finished it easily and KXIP won the match by 10 wickets.
In the post match press conference, Dravid expressed his disappointment. He said that Delhi Daredevils haven’t been able to access the conditions well enough and it is the biggest reason behind their poor show.
“There’s not much to say when you get out for 67. We were pretty disappointing on the day with our execution. We can only go up from here. We are better than what we showed today. We were very poor and didn’t bat intelligently. We didn’t access the conditions well enough and didn’t give ourselves a chance, Dravid said at the post-match press conference.
“There have been times where we’ve played pretty good cricket. There have been times where we’ve lost close games. The three games that we lost were relatively close. The last couple of games we’ve not played well. Even in Calcutta, I thought we were very good in the first 15 overs and then lost the game in the last five overs,” The Wall further added.
