IPL 2017: This Indian Cricketer Spotted Mumbai Indians Batsman Nitish Rana First

Nitish Rana is the emerging player in the ongoing Indian premier League. The youngster has been firing for the Mumba Indians an winning matches for them. He has 30 plus scores in five out of his 6 innings so far. Rana’s 16 sixes in the tournament is most by any batsman so far in this edition of the IPL. Rana has scored 255 runs at a stupendous average of 51.

He has batted well in pressure situations and has helped Mumbai Indians get to a victory in some tricky run chases. The 23-year old left-hander is making his case for a national selection. This is the beauty of the IPL! Youngsters perform and get recognition which leads to a national call up.

However, it was Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir who spotted this young talent first. Gambhir has represented India in 200 plus matches and found this special talent with his experience. In a tweet, Monty Panesar, the English off-spinner reveals that Rana is Gambhir’s find. Gambhir and Rana hail from the same city, Delhi and played for the same club.

Gambhir replied saying that Nitish is a special player but needs to keep working hard.

Rana’s will feature next for Mumbai Indians against Delhi Daredevils at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. In an attempt to impress the national selectors, he will be hoping to continue his impressive form against a good pace bowling attack of the Daredevils.
