IPL 2017: During the first opening ceremony of tenth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2017), India’s batting legends Sachin Tendulkar, RahulDravid, Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag were felicitated by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), for their outstanding contribution to Indian cricket.

While Sachin, Ganguly, Laxman and Sehwag were honoured by the board officials, Rahul Dravid wasn’t present during the felicitation ceremony. It is being reported that Rahul Dravid’s flight from Delhi to Hyderabad got delayed due to bad weather conditions in the national capital. Flights are running late in Delhi because of thunderstorms in the Indian capital and the stadium is two hours away from the Hyderabad airport.
It was an emotional moment for Indian cricket fans to see their star batsmen together. The chairman of CoA felicitated VVS Laxman first while CK Khanna, Amitabh Choudhary and the IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla presented Ganguly, Sehwag and Tendulkar with a golden bat.
It was disappointing for Indian cricket fans to not see Rahul Dravid getting honoured with his former teammates.
