Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan is the daughter in law of great Indian former captain Late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi aka Tiger Pataudi. Tiger is regarded as one the greatest captains in cricket history and many believe that his contribution to Indian cricket is immense.
He took over as India’s captain when there was widespread cast system in India and players used to play for their casts and not for the nation. Late Tiger Pataudi’s role in uniting Indian cricketer was instrumental. Coming from the family of royals, he commanded respect and he used this respect in uniting players and motivating them to think beyond their respective casts and play for India.
Recently, in an interview, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who wants her son Taimur to become a cricketer like his grandfather, revealed her favourite Indian cricketer. Kareena said that Indian captain Virat Kohli is her favourite and she enjoys watching him bat. Kareena is also a big fan of Virat’s aggressive style of playing cricket.
“I love the way Virat plays. He is my favourite,” Kareena Kapoor Khan said.
When the interviewer asked Kareena’s views on Virat Kohli being next Sachin Tendulkar, she said that Virat Kohli is already the next Sachin Tendulkar.
“Isn’t he already the next Sachin Tendulkar. After all, he’s the reason why we are winning so many matches in succession.”
Well, we agree with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Virat is indeed the next Sachin Tendulkar of Indian cricket. The way he is carrying the billions of hopes puts him in the same league. In the last 3 years or, Virat has worked very hard on his game and taken it to a different level altogether. He is one of the best batsmen in world cricket across all three formats of the game. Kohli has also impressed one and all with his aggressive brand of captaincy.
