West-Indian legend Brian Lara and maestro batsman Sachin Tendulkar are set to play against each other again! Cricket fanatics around the globe will be witnessing game between Brian Lara’s XI and Sachin Tendulkar’s XI as they inaugurate the Brian Lara Stadium. The match will take place on May 13th, 2017.
The stadium was one of the venues for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 but after a lot of delays it was constructed a decade later. The stadium will be a multi-purpose stadium and is situated in Tarouba, Trinidad & Tobago.
While Sachin Tendulkar is regarded as the “God of Cricket”, Brian Lara is also a wide known figure in world cricket. Lara held the record for most test runs until October 2008 when Tendulkar overtook him. In 131 Tests, Lara scored 11,953 runs and called it a day in December 2006. He scored 34 hundreds in his career. On the other hand, Tendulkar retired in November 2013 and has 12,921 runs to his name with 51 hundreds. Sachin ended his remarkable 24 year old career with a special 200th Test against West Indies.
Tendulkar and Lara are both legends of the game and have played cricket for a long time. Their fans will be excited to see them once again on the field competing against each other.
