Indian Premier League (IPL 2017): Mumbai Indians’ flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya was in outstanding form with the bat in the second match of IPL 2017. Pandya came in to bat at number 8 and helped Mumbai Indians reach a respectable total of 184 runs in their quota of 20 overs.
Pandya smashed scored 35 runs off just 15 balls. He smashed 4 sixes and 1 four in his innings. Pandya struggled to hit the middle of the bat on the first few deliveries but he made up for that in the last over of the Mumbai Indians’ innings, which was bowled by Ashok Dinda.
Dinda is a good death bowler but he can go for too many runs if he misses his mark. He started off well with the new ball but leaked too many runs in death overs. In the last over of the innings, Pandya smashed 4 sixes and 1 four to give the fire power which was missing for the major part of Mumbai Indians innings.
Pandya showed great hitting technique and played some exquisite strokes in the last over of the innings. The best part about his hitting was the way he kept his head still and looked to hit down the ground.
The first three balls of Ashok Dinda’s over went sailing over the boundary rope for 3 consecutive sixes, followed by a boundary and then again a six. You can watch the video here:
