They might have been buddies on field during the time when they opened the batting regularly for India. but, that did not stop Virender Sehwag from taking a dig at his former team-mate Gautam Gambhir over Ishant Sharma.
The Kolkata Knight Riders captain had made a comment over when Ishan went unsold in the IPL auction saying his base price was too high.
“Nobody will pay Rs 2 crore for 4 overs. I am surprised to see Ishant’s base price,” he said.
Just before the tournament was about to begin, Kings XI Punjab roped in Ishant Sharma.
Sehwag replied sarcastically to Gambhir’s statement when he was reminded of it by a media journalist, “Tell me one thing, who pays your Rs 12 crore for playing 60 balls then?”
It will be an interesting conversation when they meet next time.
