IPL 2017: Sandeep Sharma is one of the most exciting young fast bowlers in India. In the ongoing tenth edition of the Indian Premier League, he has impressed one and all with his outstanding display of swing bowling.
In the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chinnaswamy stadium on Friday, Sandeep bowled one of the best spells in IPL history. On a flat deck, Sandeep swung the ball both ways and troubled RCB’s star-studded battling line up. Defending a modest total of 138, Sandeep broke the back of RCB’s batting unit by dismissing Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
Sandeep first took Chris Gayle in the fourth bowl of the first over with a brilliant out-swinger as the big Jamaican edged one to Martin Guptill at point. Virat Kohli looked to counter-attack but Sandeep managed one to sneak through his bat and castled him. And finally he got rid of de Villiers when he looked to come down the track and drive him, only to hand an easy catch to Saha.
Sandeep became the first bowler to get the deadly trio of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers out in the same game as RCB were bowled out for the fourth time in IPL 2017.
Sandeep now has 14 wickets from 10 matches and is fourth in the running for Purple Cap.
