India’s women cricket team’s captain Mithali Raj is one of the best batters in women cricket’s history. Mithali, over the years, has led India from the front and made Indian women cricket proud with her extraordinary achievements on the field. Mithali is the second highest scorer in the history of women cricket and if we start writing down her achievements, it will take a while.
Mithali Raj is also a very calm and composed character on the field. Recently, in one of the matches of ongoing ICC Cricket Women’s World Cup, Mithali was seen reading a book quietly, before going in to bat. A GIF of that moment was uploaded by International Cricket Council on Twitter and it went viral in no time. Although, women cricket isn’t as popular as men’s cricket, Mithali Raj has a big fan following in India. Cricket fans in India respect Mithali for her contribution to the game. Mithali’s GIF of reading a book so calmly went viral on social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter.
“I am into reading a lot and even before getting into batting, I am always with Kindle or books because it calms me down as well as, I don’t get those jitters just getting into batting,” Mithali said.
