4 Biggest Achievements Of KL Rahul So Far

One of the most talented batsmen to have stormed his way into the Indian side is KL Rahul.

The Bangalore-based right-hander was deemed an excellent player with great potential and it has started to show. Though he has played only a handful of games, he has already carved a niche for himself with some excellent innings. Here are five of his biggest achievements:

Scored 1000 runs in a Ranji season:

During the age of just 21, Rahul blazed his way to more than 1000 runs in one Ranji Trophy season. The player represented Karnataka in the 2013-14 season after being dropped for the prior one and made sure everybody learnt their mistake.

Rahul featured for his state and became one of the few batsmen to score 1000+ runs in one Ranji season. He earned a place in the SRH setup for the upcoming IPL post this.

Scored a hundred on ODI debut:

Rahul scored his first ever century in ODIs on his debut. Though it came against a weakened Zimbabwe side, Rahul made sure to remain professional and put up a batting display that was peppered with beautiful strokes around the park.

He was excellent in that series, in fact and even scored a half-century in the same series to underline his class.

Scored centuries for India in all formats:

Another excellent record that Rahul holds for India is the fact that he has scored centuries across all formats for India – Only after Suresh Raina. He blasted a brilliant 110 in a T20 against West Indies at Floride in 2015 in a losing cause.

Rahul also scored a superb yet unlucky 199 in the England series back in 2016 and has an ODI century too, to his name. A batsman who retains his class across all formats.

Has an international century in his first series:

Rahul has shown his class on multiple occasions and the Indian tour of Australia was another time where he shone. In his debut, he was a wreck and fell for 4 runs across both innings. The team management placed their faith in him and he proved them right in the next Test at Sydney.

Playing in only his second Test, Rahul was not overawed by the Sydney Cricket Ground and scored a superb century to help India.
