One of the most powerful players in the history of the game would need no second invitation to hit a six now, would he? Not exactly an invitation but Dhoni showed that a small technical blip would not spoil his mood.
In the ODI series against England last year, Dhoni and Yuvraj put on a show by both smashing centuries and taking India past the 300 mark. The veterans have been on the pitch for many years and share a good level of camaraderie between them.
Spidey cam interference:
Facing the English bowler in the latter half of the innings, Dhoni was thrown a juicy full toss that he pulled. The ball was surely going past the boundary and was stopped only by the Spidey Cam. The umpire had no choice but to cancel the six because the rules stipulate that a ball stopped by an external influence on the pitch must be deemed dead.
No problem for Dhoni though. The ice-cool legend just waited for the fuller one next ball and blasted it over long-on for a massive six. Probably the biggest six of the tournament, Dhoni then went to his non-striker, Yuvraj Singh and just smiled.
Form is temporary, class is permanent.
