Here’s Why Quinton De Kock Wore Hashim Amla’s Jersey

Did we just see two Hashim Amla’s in the first T20 between South Africa and Bangladesh? Well yes, not kidding! When the South African skipper, JP Duminy won the toss and chose to bat first then the crowd was just baffled and in a funny dilemma seeing the jerseys of both the openers read the same name. It seemed like Hashim Amla and Hashim Amla have walked onto the crease in the first T20 game at Bloemfontein against the Bangla tigers. People were both amazed and confused to see Quinton De Kock sporting the jersey of Hashim Amla.

Why was De Kock wearing Amla’s jersey?

We know for a fact that Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock are amply dear friends but that does not validate as a reason for De Kock wearing Amla’s jersey. Both of them form a resolute opening pair for the Proteas and have gone strength to strength as a reliable opening pair.

As everyone was rendered guessing as to why they see what they see, the commentators later made it clear that Quinton De Kock, the sweet innocent guy was wearing his buddy’s jersey because his jersey was lost before the match commenced. So, the commentary box rightly catered to the strange confusion that rushed through everyone’s veins.

Quinton De Cock Played a match winning knock

South Africa went on to win the match by 20 runs as they set a target of 195 for the visitors. Albeit Amla returned to the pavilion early, De Kock smacked a stunning half century and scored 59 from 44 balls.

He was given a great company by AB De Villiers who smashed 49 runs in just 27 balls before he perished. Despite a match winning knock, De Kock was trolled heavily on the social media. Oh wait, did we see two Amla’s at the batting crease? (:D)
