Virat Kohli has an extraordinary hunger for runs which never seems content and this hunger and exemplary fitness it what makes him different from any other player in the world. Virat Kohli now just doesn’t play cricket but he owns the game! 2017 would be an year to remember for Kohli as this year he became the first in the list of Indian batsmen with most runs in a calendar year.
Kohli has topped the charts here too, that’s another feather in his illustrious cap that’s already quite heavy with feathers that add on almost every game. Virat Kohli has scored 2681 runs in 2017 and these are runs from just 46 matches across formats. Now seeing this figures you can well imagine how consistent he has been throughout the year and the fact that 2017 belonged to Kohli by all means.
First in the list before Kohli’s ton at Kotla in the ongoing match was the ‘Wall of Indian Cricket’ who piled up 2626 runs in 1999 at an average of almost 47. In 2016 Kohli missed out on surpassing Rahul Dravid and fell a little short as he ended the year with 2595 runs but in 2017 Kohli has surpassed Rahul Dravid who was the synonym to consistency before Kohli redefined terms.
