The IPL auctions have begun in Bangalore and RaviChandran Ashwin was among the first players to go under the hammer. The spinner goes to Kings XI Punjab and the Chennai Super Kings couldn’t bring him back to their dug out.
The Chennai Super Kings retained MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. They were keen to get Ashwin in the auctions but this comes as a surprise.
The Kings XI Punjab which is searching to end its drought of the title surprised everyone when they bought the ace Indian spinner, Ravi Chandran Ashwin. Ashwin who was not retained by the Chennai Super Kings now goes to the Kings XI Punjab.
Kings XI Punjab already had a great spinner in their retained player, Axar Patel and now they have got another champion to their dug out. Ashwin would be a little disappointed not going to the Chennai Super Kings for it happens to be his home team.
But he would surely be happy with the hefty price he’s gone for. Ashwin is among the leading wicket takers in the IPL with 100 wickets to his name. Ashwin is a champion bowler and he’s been a pillar of India’s success in recent years. The Kings XI Punjab would fancy their chances to win their first title with Ravichandran Ashwin coming to the camp.
