Under the fine guidance of Mr Dependable, Rahul Dravid the Indian Under 19 lads have made the nation proud by winning the World Cup hosted in New Zealand. India registered its 4th title win in the 12th edition of the Under 19 World Cup.
After Mohammad Kaif, Virat Kohli and Unmukt Chand, Prithvi Shaw became the 4th U19 captain to lift the ICC U19 World Cup Trophy.
The team of these exceptional young talents is winning all accolades for their thumping performances in the World Cup. But winning the maximum appreciation is the amply experienced coach of this young team.
Rahul Dravid is on the receiving end of all praises and applause for crafting an invincible team out of these young and vibrant talents. We are all thankful to him for the world cup win.
RAHUL DRAVID NOT HAPPY WITH THE BCCI
After India won the U19 World Cup, huge cash prizes for the players and the support staff were announced. All the players in the squad will receive INR 30 lakh each while all those in the support staff will receive INR 20 lakh each. But Rahul Dravid has been kept at a higher pedestal and for him, the reward announced by the BCCI is INR 50 lakhs.
Rahul Dravid is not happy that players would be getting less than what he walks away with. Here is what Rahul Dravid said
“It’s a bit embarrassing at times because I tend to get a lot of attention and focus, but it is really about the support staff and the quality of people that we’ve had. I don’t want to mention names but everyone in the support staff has put in a great effort. We do the best for the kids,”
As a report by the Indian Express, Rahul Dravid was unhappy with the discrimination in the cash prizes received by him, the players and the support staff. Once again he has proved why he is called the best gentleman ever to have played the sport. This is nothing but Dravid being Dravid.
