So, having won the fifth ODI, India has sealed the series and the drought of winning a series in South Africa has finally come to an end. After losing out in the Pink ODI, India came back stronger and ascertained the series win by winning the 5th ODI convincingly.
India won the 5th ODI by 73 runs and with this India has also won the series.
Here are the ratings of the Indian players based on their performance in this match
1.Rohit Sharma: 9/10
Came back to form with a brilliant century at Port Elizabeth today. Rohit scored 115 runs and made sure India reached a good total. But he was also involved in two run outs. It must be a great relief for him to get a century after getting just 40 runs from 4 innings.
2. Shikhar Dhawan: 6/10
Once again started on a great note and showed glimpses of his stellar form. But Rabada got the better of him for 34 from 23 balls. Shikhar Dhawan played superbly for his 34.
3. Virat Kohli: 7/10
Unlucky to meet a run out when he was on 36. He was set then and had got his eye in. Perhaps another big score was up for the taking but the unfortunate run out got the better of him. As for captaincy he did well.
4. Ajinkya Rahane: 3/10
He too has had a series of low scores now after a half-century in the first ODI. He too got run out for 8 from 18 balls. Maybe it wasn’t his fault but it is the score that counts.
5. Hardik Pandya: 4/10
As for his services with the bat, he perished for a golden duck. But he was good with the ball today and picked up 2 wickets including that of AB De Villiers.
6. Shreyas Iyer: 4/10
Scored 30 runs and played well for that score. But he was sloppy in the field and that could have been costly.
7. MS Dhoni: 3/10
Dhoni could not do much with the bat. MS Dhoni scored just 13 from 17 balls as he failed to finish things nicely for India. With the gloves, he got himself a catch and stumping each.
8. Kuldeep Yadav: 8/10
Once again the star with the ball. Kuldeep Yadav after going for plenty in the fourth ODI came back strongly and picked 4 wickets for 57.
9. Yuzvendra Chahal: 7/10
Chahal picked up 2 wickets for 43. Once again it was the young duo of Chahal and Kuldeep which picked the bulk of wickets.
10. Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 3/10
Got no wicket for 43 from his 7 overs. He’s been looking for wickets in this series but they have not come his way.
11. Jasprit Bumrah: 4/10
Bumrah picked up 1 wicket for 22 from his 7 overs.
