Last night, the match was won by Mumbai Indians by beating Kings XI Punjab by 3 runs after a nail-biting end at Wankhade Stadium. The match was very crucial for both the teams but Mumbai Indians were in a very bad need for the win last night as the defeat could have shown them the door of elimination. Currently, the team is sitting at the 3rd position in the points table.
The opening batsman of Kings XI Punjab, played another thrilling knock last night. He smashed the bowlers of Mumbai Indians to all the corners of the ground and scored a massive 94 runs off 60 balls he faced. However, his efforts couldn’t made his team win the match as the Kings XI Punjab failed to chase the runs and fell short of 3 runs.
On the other hand, we all saw how Hardik Pandya showed what true sportsmen-ship is all about. He exchanged his jersey with KL Rahul, after Mumbai Indians won the match last night, by 3 runs.
The images and videos of the beautiful moment is all over the internet and people are showering love on both the friends.
After the match, when KL Rahul was asked about the candid moment he shared with Hardik Pandya, he said:
“Look we’ve seen this happening in football and obviously Hardik and I are good friends and I felt it would be nice to collect some jerseys and then bring the tradition to cricket as well. We didn’t speak about this earlier and as we’re talking now, I said give me your jersey and he wanted my jersey too and so we exchanged jerseys, it’s a nice thing,”
Talking about his friendship with Hardik and IPL game he said:
“That’s the beauty of the IPL that we play really hard to win. Though we play 300 days of cricket together, during the two months when we play IPL, there’s no friendship once we step on to the field. I want to take him down, he wants to take my wicket. That’s how the event is.
It’s not just between me and him, but all the eight teams compete by heart and that’s what makes it the biggest tournament in the world,”
KL Rahul has also took to instagram and shared the moment from last night, alongwith a very heartfelt post about the game. Here’s what he posted:
The message in the post read:
Well, if this isn’t true friendship and sportsmen-ship, we don’t really know what is.
