Sourav Ganguly Backs MS Dhoni For World Cup 2019, Says He Will Do Well

MS Dhoni, the former captain of Indian cricket team has always been the strongest backbone of Indian cricket team since last so many years. His contribution to the Indian cricket team has been huge and his records are something, that speaks for his greatness as a cricketer.

However, MS Dhoni has been on the receiving end of criticism because of his performances lately. It has been many months, since MS Dhoni is struggling to deliver some good performances and has failed to emulate his hard-hitting abilities of the past. In the season, he has played 9 matches but could only manage to score 156 runs, also he was far from giving his best in the recently concluded Asian Cup.

All this has put MS Dhoni under the scanner with the 2019 World Cup fast approaching fast. His presence in the team for World Cup has become one of the most debatable topic ever. Be it social media or the world outside it, people are often seen discussing about the same.

Many top cricketers including, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and many more, have came out and supported the former skipper by saying he is the most experience player in the squad.

I don’t know what combination they are thinking at. But I’m sure he [Dhoni] will do well in the World Cup. It’s [against West Indies] big series for him.”

He added :

“His overall record is very good. It all depends on how the players perform going ahead to the World Cup. It’s about scoring runs. That’s why Pant has been given a chance.”

MS Dhoni’s presence and experience has always did wonders for the Indian cricket team. Although he is not able to give his best with the bat lately, but his presence and experience on the field is still turning out in favor for Indian team.
