The ongoing series are heavily touted to be a blockbuster affair between the two sides, however, Shane Warne, the legendary spinner feels it’s just another big T20i series between the two countries. He said :

“I don’t think it’s a do or die, it’s just another Test series, another big Test series in Australia,”

Shane Warne was also asked about his favorites among India and Australia. He highlighted the fact that the year 2018 has been the worst year for the Australian cricket team, referring to the ball-tampering case that resulted in the ban of Steve Smith and David Warner. Talking about the same he said :

“But if you think about the year 2018 that Australia has had, it’s been an ordinary one, probably one of the worst they’ve ever had for Australian cricket, so let’s hope they can play well in the Twenty20 series and beat India in the Test series.”

So, yes, Shane Warne picked India as his favorites for the ongoing T20i series, he said :

“But I think India has got their best ever chance of beating Australia, here in Australia, that they’ve ever had, and I put them as favorites. It doesn’t mean they’re going to win but I think they’re going to be favorites.”

He added :

“I don’t think they’ve ever been favorites here in Australia in a Test series but Australia aren’t playing that great at the moment and India are the best side in the world in Tests, so it’s going to be tough for the Aussies.”
