Ahead of IPl 2019 Delhi Daredevils Changed Their Name To Delhi Capitals, Here’s How Twitterati Reacted To It

The new season of Indian Premiere League is a few months away, however, a lot of buzz has already started for the IPL 2019. Yesterday, the owners of the Delhi Daredevils team changed their name to Delhi Capitals.

Delhi Daredevils team have brought a makeover in the complete outlook for the upcoming season of IPL. Parth Jindal, and Kiran Kumar Grandhi, the owners of the team, not just changed the name to Delhi Capitals but also changed the logo of the team.

Speaking about the change in the name, the owners said that the name has been changed considering the Delhi is the capital of India. And talking about the logo, it has parliament house’s sign at the top and tiger, the national animal.


Apart from the changes in the name and logo, the team has brought n Sriram Srinath, who was with Sunrisers Hyderabad to run the cricket operations for the team. Ricky Ponting, the former Australian cricketer, still continues as the coach of the team. Mohammad Kaif has replaced Pravin Amre as his assistant.  Talking about his future endeavors with the team, he said :

I can’t wait to get started. This team has a promising core and loves the game as much as every cricketing fanatic does,” 

Also, the skipper of the team has been changed to the exceptionally talented Shreyas Iyer. The side also boasts some talented players like Prithvi Shaw, and Rishabh Pant. The team has also roped in Shikhar Dhawan, who was the star player of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
