BCCI Announces Test Squad For South Africa Series Amid Claims Of MS Dhoni’s Retirement; Sakshi Had This To Say

MS Dhoni Retirement

When the day began, the speculations were rife that India’s World Cup-winning captain,
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was going to announce his retirement tonight. Various unofficial news sources confirmed that Dhoni has organized a public press conference tonight where he will reveal his future plans.

Also, Indian skipper Virat Kohli had sent out a cryptic tweet earlier in the day which paid tribute to MS Dhoni. The Delhi-based player had shared a photograph of himself and the then captain, MS Dhoni with the caption –“A game I can never forget. Special night.
This man, made me run like in a fitness test.”

In the evening, the Twitter handle of many famous accounts hinted that MS Dhoni is at the office of BCCI and soon, he will make a huge decision. The chief selector of the Indian team, MSK Prasad said in a press conference that the news is incorrect and MS Dhoni was not at the headquarters of the Governing Body of Indian Cricket.

Just a few minutes later, Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of the Indian veteran, sent out a tweet silencing all the rumors that had spread on the internet –

Sakshi said in her tweet that they are all rumours and that her husband is not leaving the cricket fraternity anytime soon. She also posted the same on Instagram to back her point.

MS Dhoni has been one of India’s most successful captains. He is the only captain in the world to win ICC T20 World Cup, ICC ODI World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy. Under his leadership, India had even won the Commonwealth Bank Series in Australia.

MSD Retirement

Dhoni had quit Test cricket before the 2015 Cricket World Cup but, he has been playing limited-overs cricket regularly for India. The Ranchi-born superstar is in good shape and is one of the fittest players of the team as well.

Hence, no one was ready to believe that he is ending his career tonight. And now, Sakshi Dhoni has given a sigh of relief to the Indian cricket fans. MS Dhoni is not a part of the upcoming India vs South Africa series but, he is expected to make a return to national colours soon.

Meanwhile, the BCCI announced the squad for the 3 Test matches-
