Short term populism can never triumph over long term development. Glad to have shared my views on Progress v. Populism at the India Economic Conclave by Times Network. I am confident that Delhi will choose BJP over the party of false promise makers.

In fact it was Gautam Gambhir, who first opined that India should boycott Pakistan in the World Cup following the Pulwama terror attack.

However, on Saturday, the legendary cricketer kept aside all his personal views aside and helped a Pakistani family. He made the most of his position and helped the family in arranging the visa for a Pakistani girl and her parents All thanks to Gautam Gambhir, the young girl will be able to have heart surgery in India.

Gautam Gambhir took to twitter and himself announced the good news through a heartfelt poem. In the poem, he called the Pakistani girl as his daughter before thanking the External Affairs Minister for his help.

“उस पार से एक नन्हे दिल ने दस्तक दी,
इस पार दिल ने सब सरहदें मिटा दी।
उन नन्हे कदमों के साथ बहती हुई मीठी हवा भी आई है,
कभी-कभी ऐसा भी लगता है जैसे बेटी घर आई है।,”
