Virat Kohli is considered as one of the greatest players to have played the sport. From his flamboyant attitude on and off the field, his cricketing skills to his workout sessions, millions of people follow him for ‘n’ number of reasons and consider him as an inspiration.
So far, the 31-year-old birthday boy has scored 21036 runs in 393 matches across formats. Ever since he made his debut, Virat Kohli has broken and made many records, and this is one of the reasons why he is often compared with the cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar. And as far as his ranking is concerned, he is at the top in ODIs and second in Tests.

However, the journey wasn’t an easy one but our King Kohli didn’t stop and with his determination and will, he is what he is today. And as he turned 31-years-old today, the BCCI took to Twitter to post the clip of the match where he scored his first-ever century in international cricket.

Well, Virat’s first-ever century came against Sri Lanka in Kolkata in December 2009. During that match, Virat had scored 107 runs and formed an amazing partnership with former cricketer Gautam Gambhir to help India chase down 315 under lights.

Impressed by his performance, Gautam Gambhir had handed over his own Man of the Match award to King Kohli because he was too good.

Sharing the video, BCCI wrote:

“As #TeamIndia Captain @imVkohli turns 31, we take a look back at his maiden ODI hundred and where it all started for the Run Machine. #HappyBirthdayVirat 🎂💐💐 ”
