IPL 2020 Auction: 3 Players KKR Can Target To Strengthen Their Squad

3 Players KKR Can Target At IPL 2020 Auction To Strengthen Their Squad: All the focus will be in Kolkata on the 19th of December where the IPL Auction for the next season of the IPL will take place. Out of the 971 registered players, 332 will be up for grabs in the upcoming IPL 2020 auction. Only 73 spots will get filled whereas the others will have to wait for their chance. Out of those 73, 29 overseas players will get a chance to feature in the next season of the IPL.

Teams like RR, RCB, KXIP, and KKR who have released a lot of players will be busy in the upcoming auction. Talking about KKR, they have released some of their reliable Indian players. Robin Uthappa and Piyush Chawla who were part of the 2014 winning team will find themselves in the auction. KKR’s hard-hitting opener Chris Lynn has been released ahead of this year’s auction. The Kolkata Knight Riders have the second-highest purse with 35.65 CR in their kitty.

All in all, KKR needs to find a lot of players in this upcoming auction. So, let’s have a look at three players KKR can target in this auction.

3. Aaron Finch – Australia

KKR has released one of their openers and so it is obvious that they would need another one in this auction and who better than the batsman with the highest T20I score? Aaron Finch is having a dream year in the shortest format as he has scored four hundred in all the T20s since the last IPL.

Finch is one of the cleanest strikers of the cricket ball and the new bouncy wicket at Kolkata will suit him. He would be a perfect partner for the young Shubman Gill. Gill can anchor the innings whereas Finch can play his natural game. Finch is also an international captain and can help with the decisions on the field. KKR should target him in the upcoming auction.

2. R Sai Kishore – India

The left-arm spinner from Tamil Nadu was fantastic in this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In 12 matches, he picked up 20 wickets at an average of 10.40 and an economy rate of 4.64.

Sai Kishore has previously been net bowlers for IPL teams like CSK and KXIP and impressed them. He is doing well in the TNPL for the last couple of years. KKR has released Piyush Chawla and they would be in search of an Indian spinner. At the IPL 2020 Auction, R Sai Kishore can be a good bet for KKR and considering their past history, they might go big chasing the young spinner.

R Sai Kishore could be a good partner for Kuldeep Yadav and he could get to learn a lot from the likes of Kuldeep and Narine. KKR can go into a bidding war for this spinner from Tamil Nadu in this year’s auction.

1. Pat Cummins – Australia

Kolkata Knight Riders, who couldn’t make the playoffs last year struggled in their bowling department. There wasn’t any bowler who could control things and pick wickets at regular intervals. KKR would be in search of such a bowler and at the moment Pat Cummins is the best in the business.

At the IPL 2020 Auction, Pat Cummins should be one of the prime targets for KKR as he can be the leader of the pack which includes the likes of Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti. These young pacers can learn a lot from the No.1 Test bowler. Cummins is a bowler who always tests the batsman and won’t give away free runs. The pitch at Eden Gardens will suit his type of bowling. It won’t be easy to get him as other franchises too will be after him but KKR has the purse to bid for him in the upcoming auction.
