Ravindra Jadeja Shared What He Told To Shardul Thakur When The Tail-Ender Came Out To Bat: It was an absolute delight for the fans as the Indian cricket team won the decider match of the just-concluded ODI series against West Indies. The Men in Blue gave a stunning performance and sealed the series in a dramatic win by 4 wickets.

Though in the first half, the Indian bowlers failed to keep the West Indies batsmen away from scoring a mammoth total of 315 runs, but the Indian batsmen gave a stunning reply with their bats. The fans witnessed a thrilling show by Rohit Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur, who kept everyone at the edge of their seats throughout India’s innings.

When the men in blue took charge with bat, it looked like a comfortable win for team India at 188 for 2 but the fans got a mini heart-attack when the team lost three quick wickets that saw scoreboard at 228/5. Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper also went back to pavilion after giving a stunning performance. He went on to score 85 runs in 81 balls, where he smashed 9 fours.

Ravindra Jadeja stitched a 58-run partnership with his captain Virat Kohli for the 6th wicket. Later after Kohli was dismissed Ravindra Jadeja then put on an unbeaten 30-run stand with tailender Shardul Thakur.

On the other hand, Shardul Thakur played a stunning knock as a tail-ender remained calm even in the nerve-wracking situation. He smashed a six and two boundaries as he scored 17 runs in just 6 balls.

After the match, Ravindra Jadeja revealed what he told Shardul as both of them pulled off a heroic chase to win the game. Speaking at the press conference after the match, Ravindra Jadeja said:

“I told myself that I need to play till the last ball.”

He added:

“Yes, my innings was crucial because it was the decider. When I went in, my aim was to just stay with Virat and rotate the strike.”

Ravindra Jadeja also revealed that he told Shardul Thakur how good the wicket is as the two of them continued to play till the last ball. He said:

“When Shardul (Thakur) came in, I told him the wicket was good, the ball was coming on nicely so we were thinking like Virat and I were. And that was, if we play till the last ball and treat every ball on its merit, we will win.”

Talking about his own performance this year, Ravindra Jadeja said:

“I didn’t play this year but whenever I got the chance, I needed to prove to myself that I am capable of playing one-day cricket. To no one else but myself,”
